Why Should I Get the COVID-19 Vaccine?

The COVID-19 vaccine is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and others from the virus. Here’s why it’s important:

– COVID-19 can cause severe illness, especially in vulnerable groups such as older adults, those with chronic health conditions, and people with weakened immune systems. Get vaccinated to actively protect these individuals by helping to stop the spread of the virus.

– COVID-19 spreads easily from person to person. Get vaccinated to lower your risk of passing the virus on to others and help to keep your family, friends, and community safer.

#### **Who Can Get a Free COVID-19 Vaccine?**
We are offering free NHS COVID-19 vaccines to those most at risk of severe illness, from 1st October (dependent upon availability). You’re eligible for a free vaccine if you fall into any of these categories:

– **You are an adult aged 75 and over**.
– **You are a resident in a care home for older adults**.
– **You are aged 6 months or older in a clinical risk group** (please note that the eligibility criteria changed last year and has remained largely the same this year and so you may not be eligible for an NHS COVID vaccination, even if you have had this vaccination previously on the NHS).
– **You are pregnant**. You are eligible for your vaccination from 1st September (dependent upon availability).

#### **How Can I Get the COVID-19 Vaccine?**

– **Eligible adults** can receive their free COVID-19 vaccine at **Monkbar Pharmacy** from 1st October (dependent upon availability).

Please note that currently Monkbar Pharmacy staff cannot book an appointments for NHS COVID-19 vaccines. Appointments can only be booked through the NHS website above or by calling 119.

If Monkbar Pharmacy does not appear on the list of vaccination centres then that means we do not have any available appointments. Please check back again soon because appointments are regularly released.

– **Children and other specific groups** may receive the vaccine through their **GP** or designated NHS services.

Terms and Conditions for Private (paid for) COVID-19 vaccination at Monkbar Pharmacy*

We understand schedules can change and unforeseen circumstances can arise. To ensure we can accommodate all of our clients, we kindly request adherence to our cancellation policy.

1. Cancellations

Clients must notify us of cancellations or appointment changes at least 24 hours in advance.

To cancel or reschedule, please login to your client portal or email clinic@monkbarpharmacy.co.uk.

Please note that cancellations for the COVID-19 service will be subject to a NON-REFUNDABLE £50 booking fee. This is applicable however, much notice is given due to the high cost of the vaccination. If you re-arrange your appointment you with more than 24hrs notice you will not be required to pay an additional booking fee.

Please ensure that there is no reason for you to be declined the vaccine. If you are not able to receive the vaccine (i.e. under 12yrs, 12-16yrs without being accompanied by an adult with parental responsibility, it has been less than 3 months since your last COVID vaccination, you have ever had a serious reaction to any vaccination or have ever been told that you should not receive the vaccination, you are very unwell with a fever – please note that mild/moderate cold symptoms are not a reason for vaccination to be declined), the non-refundable booking fee of £50 will apply.

2. Late Rescheduling 

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time will incur the booking fee of your appointment (£50).

This fee compensates our team for the time that was set aside specifically for you and minimises any losses from the high cost of this vaccine.

3. No-shows

Failing to show up for your scheduled appointment without prior notification will result in a 100% charge of the scheduled service cost.

Repeat no-shows may result in having to prepay in full for future services or lead to an inability to book future appointments.

4. Late Arrivals

We understand delays can happen, however, if our clinicians feel that there is no longer time to safely provide the service to you in the remaining time, you may be asked to reschedule. Our clinician’s decision on this is final. We may decide to treat tardiness as a late cancellation and apply the applicable fee. This ensures we can provide the best and safest service to you and our other clients.

5. Exceptions

We recognise emergencies and special circumstances can occur. Exceptions to our policy are made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Monkbar Pharmacy management.

6. Refunds

Cancellation fees and deposits are non-refundable unless your appointment has been re-scheduled with more than 24 hours notice. All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to contact@monkbarpharmacy.co.uk. All requests will be considered within 4 weeks of receipt.
